Sunday morning found me back and Waffle House with Ana of the Well Appointed Desk. This would always be a good start to the day, but today was apropos since the emphasis was to be on people. The people are the best part of a pen show, plus my budget was nearly depleted.

The show opened at 9:00 am and I was in by 9:01. I could only stay until about noon and I wanted to make the most of my time. I wandered around and visited people and saw some things they had picked up. I was tempted by this blotter but passed in the end.

I did pick up a couple of things. A Retro 51 Fortress, #1013 - a prime number of course. Also a pack of Story Supply Co. Edition 407 Pocket Staple notebooks. If I was a woman, I could get some SUKIE S407 skinny cut jeans and put them in the back pocket. I would put a picture, but this is not that kind of blog. I will however include a picture of table full of sexy Vintage Eversharp Skylines.

Back to my purchases. The Retro 51 looks like this:

And the Edition 407 notebooks look like this:

Here is a writing sample in the Edition 407. They take fountain pen ink really well. The glass dip pen is pretty wet but that was no problem.

Writing these pen show posts has taught me a lot about what I need to pay attention to at future shows to give a better report. Who knows maybe I’ll even have time to write a short post.

p.s Write down a list of people you want to talk to when you next go to a pen show.
